Journal Entries
Here you will find the journal entries I wrote during my Eureka Science placement at the Hospital for Sick Children.
In this reflection I comment on how my placement has allowed me to appreciate the power of wonder and imagination as coping mechanisms to confer positive, therapeutic gains when faced with traumatic life experiences.
In this reflection I comment on how this placement has allowed me to better manage my time, as well as how this quality has allowed me to better myself in all realms of life.
In this reflection I comment on how Bushra and I had misjudged (underestimated) our youthful audience, and the precautions we took to ensure this grave error would not be repeated.
In this reflection I comment on how I learned to take responsibility for my mistakes and that by displacing fault on to others (external locus of control) I retarded any learning from taking place.
In this reflection I comment on my greater appreciation for hands-on learning. We revamped our skit to incorporate more active participation from our audience members throughout the entire duration of the show, as opposed to participation being confined to a short end-of-segment experimentation period.
